Theft protection for the D2...

Someone e-mailed this picture to me a while back (and I forget who).

This was taken at Rough & Tumble.

Would you dare try and steal that D2 and take a chance of getting your ankles gnawed by that vicious looking Dachshund ?!?!?!

Is Reggie standing up or on his belly?

SJ my money is on REGGIE I've seen lots of DOG teams pulling but no CAT teams. Although I have a MANX that is about as big as Reggie, haven't hiched him up YET.😛 😛 😄

If you keep a dog tied to the Cat you will find your tracks rust a lot faster!! 😛 😉 😄

I'll tell you what? If you see "Reggie" Pulling your D2 down the road.
That would be one dog I would not want to mess with!!!😊

Marco,
I could only guess at those questions - as I don't have any factual information.

You Wrote 1:

Answer:
My guess is that half of them had blades - judging by the ones I've seen.

You Wrote 2:

Answer:
Someone help me out here... 12,000 + / -

You Wrote 3:

Answer:
The overall condition determines the price more than anything.
So, you could have an inexpensive unit WITH a blade (in poor condition) or an expensive unit WITHOUT a blade (in good condition).

It all depends...

Bill,

In the UK less than 10% of the D2's have blades, as most of the tractors were imported for agricultural use as base tractors.
Most colectors want to own a D2 with a blade in the UK, so that they can play in the dirt.
I would imagine that this will be the same in Holland, as you said, condition is everything regarding the price.

In my area here in NE Pa.probably half of them had blades but without blades they were used for log skidding back when timbering was big for mining logs & saw timber too but the mining is gone right here so most all later tractors have blades on them esp. for grading purposes around building projects & the like.Bob Cats & other brand rubber tired machines have taken over smaller jobs now too & some have tracks on them now to get around better.

Testimonials

"I also joined a year ago. had been on here a couple of times as a non-member and found the info very helpful so I got a one year subscription (not very expensive at all) to try it out. I really like all the resources on here so I just got a three year. I think its a very small price for what you can get out of this site."
