I, as many want to do, have thoughts of MORE horse power. Caterpillars recent redheaded stepchild was thought to be the D7F. It seems that most of the issues were resolved after SN 5660. Mainly the transmission issues. What was the SN break in the military version of the 7F when the transmission issue was resolved.

Hi Team,
just saying, that for some Military Machines there is no cross reference as they were a Special Build Machine.

The scan below is all that I am presently aware of as cross reference--However there may now be some update to this old 1990 Chart from a Caterpillar Serial/Product Identification Index, Form No SEBF9451-17, Dated 1990--would need to contact a Dealer to see what - number they are up to now.

At least the D7E's and the D7G's are listed.

Cheers,
Eddie B.

Thanks edb. It looks like none of the military D7Fs got the transmission upgrade.

Testimonials

"I also joined a year ago. had been on here a couple of times as a non-member and found the info very helpful so I got a one year subscription (not very expensive at all) to try it out. I really like all the resources on here so I just got a three year. I think its a very small price for what you can get out of this site."
