We have all been letting you know what we don't like about the new format, but are a bit slower to say thank you.
The library of Cat literature has been talked about for years but it is finally here.
SO THANK YOU DIRECTORS and others that have made this possible.
Is there any Cat literature that shows where seriel numbers are on all the different machines? It would sure be a help if there was and it could part of the library.
It seem many newcomes to Cat equipment confuse casting numbers with seriel numbers or parts numbers. If we had a page that explained where to find seriel numbers and casting numbers would cut down on confusion.
I am not aware of such a document, but if someone does and can provide an electronic (.pdf) copy, I will place it in the library.
Locations of serial numbers are shown in the back of the Operation and Maintenance Manuals for the machine. I think the best thing to do is make reproductions of these manuals so owners can read and understand how to properly operate and maintain there machine. They could be made as a made to order basis, I have several of these manuals that could be used as a copise for prints as I'm sure other members may have some also.
