Hey Trish,

I moved your thread to the Discussion forum. It really belongs there.

When any photos are taken with a "Smart Phone" they do not turn right side up like they do in the phone. I am searching for a way to easily flip them up right but have not found it yet. The only way, for now, is to manually flip them on your computer, not a smart phone, before uploading.

As I always say, "Danged Computers Anyway!".👍

Hey Trish,

When I take picture on my I phone, I hold it sideways, not vertical. I have found any pictures taken while holding a phone vertically needs to be flipped before posting. When I hold the phone sideways, or horizontally, the pictures do not need to be flipped and post with no trouble.

Hi Trish, along with what 7Upuller says, I found that when I take a picture with my iPhone, not only does it need to be held sideways, but also the round button that you wake up the phone with must be on the right hand side as you are looking through the screen. If you do this they will post correctly.

In my experience a photo taken with the button on the left will post upside down, even though it looks proper on the phone.

Hope this helps and great pictures by the way.

The reason the photos from some cameras post differently to what is seen on the phone at the time of taking the photo is that the picture file includes orientation information that some software does not take into account e.g. this vbulletin software and plugins that the forum uses. So Glen and Bruce's advice is basically saying take the picture so that the orientation information can be ignored. As is typical in the software industry, not everyone does it the same way so your mileage may vary (and what way you have to hold your phone) depending on what type of camera you use. Worse than that, the same camera will modify that orientation information depending on the settings in place at the time. IT guys right?....

Garlic Pete and I were having a play around with my iPad at Garlic Moms house as I took a photo of every tractor at the show and we thought that they would be all around the wrong way and tried a few things to see if that worked but it did't, so when I get back to Oz, I need to get my computer fixed and then get them all uploaded onto this site, but it will take me a little while as I have to catch up with all my work and give my computer fixer time as well!

Thanks for your kind words Roger. I have just flew home today and have been sharing my pictures with my husband, him being covered in dust and dirt from a days work. We all can't wait until next years show and to share the great hospitality of the American people.
