Can anyone tell me what happened to TAP Equipment Co. after Joe Lubin passed away. Were the parts liquidated and disbursed or did one person/business purchase the assets who is still in business today.

Mike,

If Tap was the Cat parts place in Southern Cal, I believe Joe Lubin liquidated and sold out before he passed away. I understood that Floren tractor purchased his inventory.

Greg:

Joe Lubin did not pass away, the business was liquidated by Joe and his brother after their dad passed away and Florin did buy the inventory. Joe's dad started the business following WW II when he bought 5 liberty ships full of army surplus inventory out of England. I was fortunate to make many trips to TAP over the years before he sold out and get all kinds of NOS Cat parts for many projects.

Thanks. I often wondered what became of all those parts.

Testimonials

"I also joined a year ago. had been on here a couple of times as a non-member and found the info very helpful so I got a one year subscription (not very expensive at all) to try it out. I really like all the resources on here so I just got a three year. I think its a very small price for what you can get out of this site."
