Look at the rust on the Hydraulic cylinder. Did wooden cabs come from the factory or is this something that a third party would make?
Scotia
Hi, Scotia.
Wooden cabs were an option way back when. I suppose they could stil have been an option when the 'J' series D2's came out but I would have thought they would have been replaced by steel cabs by the time the 'U's series hit the ground.
That one may also have been 'borrowed' from a Cat 22 or similar.
Rust on hydraulic cylinders? At $1,163 minimum next bid, you want perfection? LOL.
is worth the money alone at the current bid.
At the dealer we used to get rusty or scored rods re-chromed again but can,t remember where we got it done now but was local I believe. They came back like new again after they chromed them.
I don't see a pre-cleaner on the hood and looks like one in the cab so this must be an early "U" series. Also, looks like a factory cab to me. I have one I took off of a D2 years ago and have seen them in the parts book. I sure wish it was on the West Coast instead of the East Coast, cause I would be all over it. Appears to have been stored indoors, what a find!

Factory cab and looks like Warn Bros. Boiler Co. Mfg dozer package.
Does the blade say "Balderson" on it?
I can't quite make it out.
The Balderson D2 blades I'm more familiar with look like this but there may be different versions.
OK, I do see the "Balderson" name on the Blade. Must be an earlier version.
I was trying to read the tag on the front guard.
Thats only 20 min. from me be glad to go look at it for you O M
