Someone just posted a for sale ad used my name in the For Sale post (D25U).

This used to be a safe place to post ads what's going on?

I've been hit up by at least 3 lowlifes posing as members who have no activity in the forum at all but seem to have just what I was looking to buy . Buyer beware .

We all must be cautious, seems as nothing is "safe", together we can try to protect our members and club. Dilligence, and prompt notification to administration is the right way to go. Admin can remove the post and block the user

I wouldn’t worry too much about much about it. Little hacking going on looks like. Happens all the time

Hi, Folks.

I keep an eye open for suspicious posts here in the discussion forum but I don't normally visit any of the other sections of the forum unless something pops up here in the Discussion forum.

I would like to suggest for those that do visit the other forums more regularly that you keep an eye open for any suspicious posts and flag any that you do see. Just click on "Actions" down at the bottom of the post and select, "Flag this post". That'll help to keep the ratbags out and keep the site more secure.

Buyer beware: If it sounds too good to be true, it probably isn't legitimate! Many of us have been on the prowl for rare/obsolete items and lo and behold, some stranger would pop up with a gaggle of whatever unicorn items you lusted for. Some scammers will have photographs, even study up on the item to make you believe them.

This happens all over, not just here. Do your due diligence before sending $. If you suspect something amiss, definitely share with others as the original poster has (Thank you btw). JM

Testimonials

"I also joined a year ago. had been on here a couple of times as a non-member and found the info very helpful so I got a one year subscription (not very expensive at all) to try it out. I really like all the resources on here so I just got a three year. I think its a very small price for what you can get out of this site."
