Ahhh, sure signs of Spring when the Dumpster Divers swarm my neighborhood because they know that our annual Junk pick-Up is this week and everybody is throwing potential treasures out on the curb to be picked up by the City. The dumpster Divers are entertaining to watch, They drive by really slow and sometimes stop and throw some of our junk in their trucks. Some of them cruise the junk piles in their Mini Vans and I even saw a fairly new Volvo station Wagon on the prowl today too.
One of my favorite things to do is Bait them and then sit back and watch.๐op2: This years bait was a pair of worn out Caterpillar D2 Track Frames (idlers and rollers not worth saving) that I carried out to the curb with the Bobcat. They maybe weigh about 400# each? I saw two guys arguing over them, thought they might get into a fight over the things. I tell all the dumpster divers that I would load them with my Bobcat for $20. I stood and watched a guy and his 12 year old son struggling to get those things on their trailer.๐op2: I offered my loading services and they declined, so I stand and watch.๐op2:๐op2: The guy finally called his buddy that was prowling a few blocks away. He showed up two minutes later and then the three of them together couldn't lift the frame.๐op2: I offered my services again and they declined. I sat there in the Jeep ๐op2๐which was parked in the driveway) watching them struggle with all their combined might to no avail.๐op2: I then drove the Jeep up into the trailer. As I got out of the trailer and closed the ramp door, VICTORY!๐mokin: The guy pulls out a $20 dollar bill and waves it in the air at me. I went and fired up the Bobcat and loaded both frames into their trailer, put the $20 in my wallet and then parked the Bobcat.๐
I can have fun in strange ways sometimes, and Hey, I got Lunch Money too! ๐๐
