I am looking for some more ideas on how to free my left steering clutch. What I have done so far..

Soaked final drive housing in about $45 worth of kero for a few weeks
Drove with brake on and clutch pulled until brake band was smoking..very hot
Chained dozer to a big tree and made some nice ruts with the tracks
Against my better judgement chained sprocket solid to roller frame and made many short chains out of a long one.

So I think I know what I really need to do but I wanted to try all I could before I pull it apart.

Any other Ideas?

If you got it smoking hot. I doubt a miracle will happen.
How long has it been stuck?
OK one last thing.
Did you open the cover and adjust the clutch out as far as possible?
You need to go past the correct point and turn the adjuster until the end.
When you pull the clutch lever it will do nothing as the clutch is theoretically disengaged already.
If it doesn't free up repeating all your past procedures then you have to take it apart.

Not sure on how long she has been stuck, best case 10 years but I think more like 20-30. The fuel in the tank was way past its expiration date. I will adjust the clutch out.. if nothing else my arm wont get tired from holding the lever back. 😊

If it's stuck that bad, even if you do get it freed up it would be a good idea to take it apart anyway to clean the housing out. There's going to be a PILE of junk that'll come out of the clutches and hopefully, part of the pile won't be clutch facing.

I took my first D2 clutch job apart without a book and in the process found several steps that could have been skipped. If/when you try to pry the final housing off, don't be surprised if the clutch/ brake drum gets broken. I've taken a few apart and the success ratio is about 50% on not breaking a drum.

I pulled the final drive on my 5J to do a throw out bearing, that slid right off but it was free also. Never gave much thought to getting the drum off around some rusty stuck disks. I have lots of spare parts but hopefully wont need them. thanks for the heads up
