stuck in 2nd gear

I need help with a early D7 that is stuck in 2nd gear. I now these tractors lock the shift forks when the clutch is engaged, but little else. any tricks? Jon

What serial number is it, or at least what series?

Look beneath the floor plates for a linkage between the main clutch lever and the transmission. Could be internal in the clutch housing, but on most old CATs it's external. Just make sure the pins etc are in it to start with.
D2-5J's, D6-9U's, D318 and D333 power units, 12E-99E grader, 922B & 944A wheel loaders, D330C generator set, DW20 water tanker and a bunch of Jersey cows to take care of in my spare time😄

Early D7 same as late RD7, clutch lever linkage is all connected. I pulled the shift lever the right shift fork is locked forward.

If it's not interlock adjustment it's time to pull the side cover off the transmission and see what's going on with the cam, springs, plungers, etc that make up the shifter interlock mechanism.
