Hi, Steve A.
That is an Allis Chalmers HD9X. I think it was basically designed as an easily transportable fire fighting dozer. As I understand it, there were not a lot of them made. That would be a conversation piece pretty much wherever it went to a show.
It was designed so that the blade was attached directly to the front of the main frame - no push arms - and the lift rams raised or lowered the whole main frame. engine, radiator, transmission and all, along with the blade. Here is a link to another photo:

Wow! Thanks for posting these pics Steve A. What an unusual design, it looks like something from a drawing of a bulldozer in Uncle Scrooge's money bin I remember in a comic book when I was a kid! Thanks to Deas too as I was having a devil of a time trying to figure how the blade worked.

That is an cool dozer even if it is a Allis. Kind of like a 4 ticket ride at the local county fair. Just think of the ride on it all day adjusting yourself up and down to adjust the blade.
So Steve, when will we be able to see it at your place?! That would be a neat item to have. Thanks.

SteveA,
As others have said, neat find! I have never seen or heard of one of these although I did own a HD-6 hydraulic blade once. The ride would certainly be different when the blade was "up". You would be backing up a hill and sitting level all the while you were backing! I think forward vision would not be good with the whole front of the tractor sticking up.
By the way, I DO know how the blade works on the one parked behind it! 😊

Hi, Folks.
If my understanding is 'kee-wrecked', those dozers didn't have an equalizer spring or bar in them either. They got all 'practical' and used the lift rams as the equalizing arrangement between the tracks.
Just my 0.02.
