Asking for a friend...seriously.
He has a D4C40A series dozer; wants/needs the correct starter part numbers etc. So he can get a proper replacement for the one he has. I’m guessing as a 330 engine, serial # isn’t all that critical?
I can’t access any of my C series today, as I’m confined to desk duty. Arrrgghh!!! JM
Thank you all, Gee.

Replace with a complete 40MT or 42MT starter #8H1913.
Must have the original 1M0023 adapter which he should have from the old 40MT starter.
If this was a pony conversion you will need to change to the helical drive.

Thanks OM. I believe the concern was no data plate/tag for his current starter. This will help him immensely.
Glad you’re around to assist! JM

I just replaced the starter on my D4c 40A and used this one https://www.ebay.com/itm/NEW-STARTER-Delco-8200308-8201063-10461755-19011508-8200031-8200038-8200088-6924/140900167653?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649 . I converted it to 12 volt but it is available in 24 volt also. They are available even cheaper on E-bay but I had bought from this seller before so used them. The adapter fit right on, did have to clock the nose a little, works good on 12 volt and only one battery to buy!
