i bought starter end drive housing and helix drive gear from ebay, angle of teeth on gear is opposite angle to what they need to be. viewed from top pony gear teeth run left to right across centre line . new gear right to left , says it for cw rotation and for cat any help would be appreciated

I guess you don,t have much choice but to send it back and look else where for the right one. It,s a real gamble buying something sight unseen and you may have trouble to even return it. Maybe an Automotive supply store that handles electrical parts might help or the last resort is a Cat dealer.
