Can the sprockets on the early D8`s and D9-D`s be pulled without heat using the puller shown in the manual--using a 100 to 150 ton jack?? Anyone got a puller setup and/or sprocket tools they want to sell?? Does anyone know what the puller set went for at the auction in Indiana a couple of weeks ago?? Thanks-Diablo

diablo, did you ever get hold of that fellow in Igance. I sent you his info last year about his 18A?

I haven't been through that way this year, and haven't run into him anywhere to ask if he still has it, although if he had the notion, i suppose he might have cashed in when we were getting $300+ per ton back in the spring.

Isn't there a shop (or even zeigler) on the "range" that has a puller setup that they'd come out and pull the sprocket off for you, and then back to press it back on when needed. I had our local dealer come out and press the master pins out and together of the track on our D8H when needed. Paying the hourly rate, was sure better than buying all the tooling for a time or two of use. Just another thought.

Until insurance and liability concerns became the new norm, our local dealer would rent the powerpack, press, and what tooling you needed by the day, but that's quite a long time ago.

Yes I did. He wants $12,000.00 for the machine. Way too much for me. I`m one of these guys that has to do everything the hard way--buy tools, break tools, break parts--it`s all a learning experience, isn`t it. Thanks-Diablo
