Does any body have any idea what a set of press tools are worth? I found a set comes with 100 ton ram 75 ton ram a couple of hollow rams one electric hydraulic pump a manual hyd pump ( the round one) about 6 arms pins about 8 threaded adapters assorted puller parts and a bunch of assorted pullers and tools The guy is asking $6500. Is this a good price seems like a lot to me any opinions ? Thanks Scotty

Is there any listing of what machines the press will work on with the supplied adapters. Will it work on sprockets? One could only surmise that the true value is how many times will it be used, and what is the value to hire the work out each time. Of course there is residual value when you are done and everybody has Cat friends that need a freeby to help keep it from rusting.

If I lived near you, my recommendation would be for you to buy it, so I could borrow it.😖mile:

With the 100ton press, it sounds like the set to do all tractors up to and including D8K, providing it has all the adaptors and tubes etc. Usually a full pulling set if in good order does not come cheap.

Check to see what tooling comes with it. Is it a full set?

IF the components are in good condition, ( do the pumps and rams work properly or are they worn out, scored or leaking, needing rebuild) is well equipped and includes the adapters you need, (you need to post pictures and part numbers if you want help identifying parts) then I think the price is about average, not a low price or high.

I use this tooling at least weekly if not more, I have about every thing for CAT Komatsu Fiat etc with loads of spare items, I would advise you check out the cost of just a few simple items from CAT, the price asked for a 100 ton cylinder alone could well be up to $6500.

I have a puller cylinder for doing the D7G just did mine a few weeks ago and i have a couple cylinders. I dont want to sell the adapters etc. But i would sell the cylinder and a set of legs.

Let me know if you are interested. Only thing else you would need would be the dead axle adapter and pusher which both can be made easily.

OH and you need a pump. I have a pump as well but have not tested it. But i would if interested its a Cat hand pump.
