I have been working on my cat 40 project for a while. Finding the heat box and manifold has been almost impossible. Thanks to Byron Heal, these pieces are now in my hands! Produced back to original specs, very detailed clean castings. As you can see all part numbers and casting details have been reproduced. Bolted right up to the original intake manifold. I contacted Byron about my project and the parts I needed a few years back. Unfortunately life got in the way and I lost contact. When things settled down I was able to reconnect with Byron and get back on track. He went out of his way to help with the project. He did not have the heat box and exhaust manifold on the shelf, but pulled the molds and recast them for me! I also purchased the brass plates that are super nice and very detailed. I posted a picture of the t-shirt and beanie I ordered from Byron as well. Very nice caterpillar embroidered logo on the front and back of the shirt. I could have never finished my cat 40 project back to original with out Byron's help!!

I'm needing a Thirty intake manifold. I think if several other people need one he would do a re-casting again. I missed out a few years back when he made a run of them.

I talked with Byron on the phone over independence day. Byron has many more project underway,I'm sure with the same quality and close attention to detail that his previous products have shown.
Byron puts alot of research and effort into these projects. I'm sure he will fill in the blanks on many more projects in the future!

Will the manifolds and heatbox interchange between the 40 and R5?Also how about the 30,friend of mine has a 30 and the manifolds look just the ones on my R5,have not measured them yet.

The manifolds and heatbox will bolt up between the 40 and R5. There is difference if I recall in the diameter of the flange that the carb bolts to on the intake manifold .The flange is larger on the R5 than it is on 40. I know that a 30 exhaust manifold will bolt to a 40 and R5. The 30 exhaust manifold has two stud bolts on it where the 40, R5 does not. I think this is to bolt control rod for heatbox? I do not know for sure if heatbox and intake will also interchange between 30 and R5. Byron reproduced the manifold and heatbox set for the R5.
