Hi, Folks.
Who's the little round feller in the black-n-white cap on the D4C in the early part of this video? Seems I might have seen him somewhere before.

Thank you, Katey Taylor.
Just her 0.02.
You have a wonderful day. Best wishes. Deas Plant.
Thank you all that helped to share. And a special thanks to the guy buying fuel for that fleet, and then not having funds to put a good battery in that one.
Well stated Ray54, the "gentleman" ended up putting two batteries in that Cat and lots of oil in the Hydraulic Tanks of two of them. For some unknown reason, when owners are not with the machines on a daily basis, maintenance suffers. Maybe someone can figure out why that happens? Sad but if it starts with the turn of a key, there is no need to check fluids or other service items. "Special Thanks" seems a bit short of the mark for all that was done to make that show/event the success it was and for the benefit of those that were able to participate and attend. Another special Thank You for the videos which Deas posted links to above. You captured some priceless moments that will live with the subjects for many years - WELL DONE! - cts
My only peeve was losing 2 hours of precious play time, rather than servicing neglected machines. The D5 with ROPS was returned to me "ready to work". NOT!!! That particular machine has me puzzled, as far as I know, there is no separate tank for hydraulic oil, as if it feeds from the transmission? The last renter's mechanics all play the blame game on each other, as to who was the one that was supposed to have given it a 100% service before releasing it. It goes back to my shop and I will get myself dirty to do it proper. I spent $900.00 on batteries and I still need one more group 4D for the other machine...fuel was the cheapest thing LOL.
If someone smarter than me can, "Natalie Cook" always makes nice videos via her FB page. If someone can plug that link onto this thread, it would be fun. We have watched her little boy Reid grow up around our iron. He LOVES it. Fantastic family time. Check it out.
Big thanks to everyone that had time to come out and enjoy the event. Day 2 was much more pleasant, as the weather was not nearly as nasty as it was on the Saturday. Looks like the EDGE TA folks like us so much, they will "follow" us to the next event, which is at Wheatland,California. I am half tempted to have an "after party" at the Hard Rock Casino which is very close by. Definitely an RSVP event.
Gee thanks again for all you do. Always good to see kids on Cats. I spend many happy hours on the seat of an RD6 well before I had the muscle to handle the steering clutch's on it. Had picture of a grandson with me on a 9u as my screen savor on the last putter.
Building Memories, meeting new people and most of all, keeping the Caterpillar Club alive and thriving. Ray54, you spoke volumes when you said "THANK YOU GEE for all you do". Those couple of hours spent on the D5 were not what was planned and Gee came prepared on Saturday, he had already discovered the problems on Friday. 2 new batteries and two 5 gallon pails of Oil were in the back of his pickup with the necessary tools and other needs. Speaking of the "young man Reid" he was such a joy to be with on the tractor. He has been a "star" with ACMOC Chapter 15 for several years now. He was featured in a group photo at the Heidrick Ag Museum for Chapter 15's annual meeting a couple of years ago. The future of the club depends upon these interactions. - cts
