Someone asked the other day, and a good question: How come so many recent events attended by followers of this site, yet no sharing of photos? Holding out for the magazine? Top secret? Too busy having fun to take any shots? Hahaha. We at Chapter 15 Cal Sierra Tracklayers are very fortunate to have Vicki Shandel (aka 15 Boss lady) and John, aka CTSnowfighter, and other locals,  take high quality photos and  more than willing to share, so others may enjoy. I received a "gripe" about my own limited amounts of photos, but glad to know that other attendees often share theirs with me, so that I can enjoy and pass along to others, as I am usually active doing "things". More to follow, if anyone cares to look at them...
What happened at Santa Margarita? Vista? Brooks? Elsewhere? I hear the places I have gone do not come close to other venues, but as some say, no photos, so it probably didn't happen?
I show some of mine, so show us some of yours please!
If I share some more of my terrible photography skills via my worn out iPhone 8, perhaps that will inspire some to post some, so you won';t have to go blind looking at mine?
I am sure many of you out there can out do me, so don't be shy, show us some pics! JM

JM -- You and the club - visitors are welcome - Many do not have the ability or opportunity to attend events -

PLEASE SHARE - Photographs do no good hidden away in a box.

Please do remember something that is often forgotten - Respect the rights of the photographer -
if they are needed for publications - often they are available simply by asking, much nicer that to find one's self in a copyright infringement issue.

I have had my "time" eating dirt, baking in the hot sun and crawling off that machine and not being able to hear the radio in the car. Yes - I still enjoy a few minutes in the seat but the camera is something that provides me a much longer lasting memory.
Boxes of slides, boxes of prints, long before Digital - and I find looking back for something - not nearly enough or no pictures of the event.

Voice of experience - lessons of "hard knocks" - label your pictures - at minimum the date and event/subject. Will make it much easier to find when you want them.

with the tech of todays cameras its so easy to take reasonable photos. and yes label them and create back ups.

i went to the nhma national rally that was held at narracoorte south aus many years ago. as part of a presentation team from my then club to put a bid in to hold the national rally.

we also went to the national trust rail and maritime museums in adelaide, the blue lake at mt gambier etc well when i got home in the process of transfering those photos i lost half of them. and i didnt have back up copies.

"i reject your reality and substitute my own" - adam savage. i suspect my final words maybe "well shit, that didnt work"

instead of perfection some times we just have to accept practicality

Thank You Trainzkidd88!

Back up and back up again - The advice is sound, but one thing we are probably all guilty of --- WHERE ARE THE BACKUPS -- right alongside the computer in the same cabinet!
YEP - That is mine!
Catastrophic event - gone - now we have the cloud and other locations, I need to take a big swallow of my own suggestions on this subject.

Hi, Folks.Re Santa Margarita, since I have become os involved in the set-up and running of BOTW, I seem to have a LOTTTT less time for taking photos.

Azfer the other shows that I have attended, Yes, I could post more but would somebody please tell my boss to get off my back and give me more spare time. I just received a ranch related call at 7.22 PM.

This first one is not show related at all. In fact. it is O.T., an IH TD9 dozer on display outside the Seabees Museum at Oxnard, CA.

DSCN1674[1].JPG

And then I found this little jigger hiding away in the backblocks ovva certain museum down in SOUTHERN SoCal: DSCN1840[1].JPG

And this slightly bigger jigger which ackshully didda lappa the block at one point:

It is fantastic looking at photos of machines lined up at rallies and the effort people go to restore them. Train kids i went to the Naracoorte rally and it was the best display of Cats i have seen. I took a photo of the front and back of every machine there. All on a stick in the house somewhere. My Gambier is a nice spot I used to go there a bit for work and day trips. It is sort of in my old stomping ground. If i can work out how to get photos on from my iPhone i will put some others up i have come across. Cheers.

Deas: I will buy you a waterproof camera for the dunk tank at Santa Margarita, so you can snap a photo of the faces of glee when someone trips the lever...
I still say that would be a great way to raise club $$$, and good exercise for some hurling those softballs...I would pay extra $ to see certain peeps get sopped.
Thanks for SOME photos, I am sure there are others dying to post some, but might have issues uploading them. As frustrating some find it, it is not too difficult...
Where is the Golden Greek aka D4Angelo and his besty bud Crawler Dolla$$$? Vista is his baby, yet no pics? WTH?
Everyone boasted of leaving me behind for Brooks, but no wanna share any evidence of attendance?
Hehehe, at least we are off to a slow start.
If this does not gain momentum, I may as well just post photos of anything besides yellow iron just to agitate some further.
I am doing this to breath some life back into this forum; It has been mentioned that things have been getting dull around here and loss of interest.
Perhaps post some stuff on the "Just for Fun" section? Keep on posting please. Thank you, JM.
