When I bought my D6C I bought a set of JENSALES service manuals from Yesterday's Tractor. Back then I didn't know that the D6C had a few different engines. The service manuals I have, only cover the 4.75" bore engines. I've been searching eBay for a while now for service manuals that include the 10K machines with D333 engine, never had any luck finding any. Does anyone know if there are reprints available of the older service manuals that include the D333?

The JENSALES manuals I have include a code on the front cover, CT-S-D6C 10K1+ Can I assume everything else in the manual is kosher for my 10K401 machine? In terms of the trans, clutches, UC, etc.

Your 10K does have the 4.75" bore D333C engine. The later one is the 3306 with its own serial number but most specs are the same. It is the earlier D6C with an "A" in the serial number prefix which has the old 4.5" bore D333B.

Hmm, ok, thanks for the clarification.

Does a D333C have all the porting etc required if I want to add a turbo someday?

You need to sort that out in the parts book. A lot of changes in part numbers for the 10K5984-up turbo engine.

There is more to it than just bolting on a turbo, different pump settings, probably a higher capacity oil pump, piston spray jets in the main bearing webs and different pistons, You will need to take a close look at the parts book.

Oh well, I just wanted to look in the parts book to see if it was an option if I ever restore this machine. Sounds like it is more complex than I envisioned.

Ok, I was looking back through some old threads doing some research on my D6C, I found a thread with posts from Old Magnet on the various engines over on Yesterday's Tractor: http://forums.yesterdaystractors.com/viewtopic.php?t=662097

Now I am confused if I have a D333B or D333C.

The S/N of my tractor is 10K 401, 1968 non-turbo. So, that would make it a D333B engine?

Some pictures here if they help: https://imgur.com/a/JaG4y

The part number on the block is 5S6777 14

Oddly enough I just found this thread: http://www.acmoc.org/bb/showthread.php?5422-Difference-between-D333C-3306-Cyl-Block A conversation between D4Dan who I bought this tractor from, and Bob Ont who helped me a lot as a CAT newbie when I bought it...

I really like all the resources on here so I just got a three year. I think its a very small price for what you can get out of this site."
