I a'm trying to locate the serial number on the D7 cat I bought, I found one on the left rear of the cat bellow the fuel tank it reads DHE555?

There should be a stamped plate on the motor as well as transmition... I do not know exact locations... But more than likely what you gave us is just a casting number or part number...

If the H is actually a 7 it might be a D7E555 model (1962) but the serial number would be a 47Axxxx or a 48Axxxx number.
