My cat 10 has the serial number PT-2380. Can anyone help me with the year of manufacture, and since I'm preparing to paint, would it be proper to paint it gray? many thanks, robert

As fr as paint goes yours should be grey. December 7, 1931 was the switch over date from grey to yellow.

I know this is somewhere in the archives but what would be a good paint manufacturer color code of gray for the Cat Ten? Also is the lettering red and if so what is the color cade.

GRAY" COLOR FOR BASE MACHINE: FEDERAL STANDARD 595B-26134

"RED" COLOR FOR TRIM: FEDERAL STANDARD 595B-11120

Should be able to give the above codes to any paint supplier so they can make a batch.
