Have any of you gents any truckers you can recommend as I have been for three weeks trying to locate a trucker who can haul 25k (5 small non-running Cats) that would be picked up outsde Portland and dropped off at my residence south of Gilroy Ca. Tractors will be forklifted on and off the trailer and placed on the trailer sideways which is why a short trailer will work just fine. I have been trying to secure a truck with a trailer than is 32ft or shorter since a full size trailer cannot make several turns onto a country road where my five tractors are located and I have been looking with brokers with no luck for three weeks and it is annoying the hell out of me as I have some stuff I want to get home.

Send me a note if you have any sources that you would recommend.

Hi Greg,

Can you ship the old cats to a rental yard close by, and have them deliver local on a roll back truck. -glen

Hey Glenn,

My issue is getting a Semi that can make the turn off the country road downt the gravel driveway and around a tree in the drive (like a island). A 48/52 ft semi will not make the turn or get around the tree in the driveway. I have guesstimated that a 32 to 34' semi could manuver the road/driveway and be easily able to turn around. I am trying to save the gent i bought the tractors from the trouble of running his forklift with a tractor on it a 1/4 mile up and down his gravel road to the paved street to load five times.

Greg,

Don't you already own the necessary equipment to widen the road and take out the tree? Sorry couldn't resist being a smart a**. 😄

try RAM trucking located near Soledad,Ca. they got a 2 axle semi-tractor and a short tilt-bed with adjustable axles w/remotes in cab. they hauled in our cat 12-7T road-grader for us and i know some of or at least 1 corner near a creek-crossing is 90-degrees and there's a 180 degree turn w/a creek-crossing in the middle. or CALIFORNIA TOWING they hauled in a D4-2Tw/blade , a 22 , and a John Deere kilifer disc on a lowboy w/ adjustable axles over the same route cheaper. and i strongly recommend both companies!
cheers!

Greg,

I understand your frustration. I have in the past (before I bought a similar truck myself) hauled equipment to a hertz equipment rental yard and paid $50-$100 to them for local small deliveries. They can haul one or two small cats on a roll back truck two axle 30' truck that can handle what you've got no problem. No trailer😄 , so if it works, send all five on on load down to a local rental yard, then have them shuttle them to you.- or if the other way, have a rental yard haul them to the yard and transfer to a big rig.-glen

just rent you a boom truck and trailer, then you can hoist them on and off the trailer.

Testimonials

"I also joined a year ago. had been on here a couple of times as a non-member and found the info very helpful so I got a one year subscription (not very expensive at all) to try it out. I really like all the resources on here so I just got a three year. I think its a very small price for what you can get out of this site."
