Check to see if the sealing ring is copper, or steel that has had a copper coating only.I have had steel one from Cat dealer as wheel as from after market. Also my machinist complains he has no way to dress the seats ,but he complains about anything that is not perfect. But also very good at finding way to do something he has been told cannot be done, just need to find him when he is board and looking for a challenge. The last time I dealt with leaking pre cups it did get to be a pain to get them all to seal but keep after it you will get it.Ray
thanks for the reply. the pre comb chamber sealing rings are steel. when the head is tested it is pushing air up and around the threads and steel sealing rings. as well the valves are not holding that great either and the hieght is to low. the head is getting some new valves and brought back to spec. does anyone know where just the sealing rings are available for the chambers? other than steel. maybe i am missing something to get these to seal? 200 ft lbs for torque. the sealing surface was cleaned up and still no luck. the machinist say its not the chambers leaking. well $500.00 the head will get a valve job and brought back to specs. as bad as it was as well as the sleaves bieng glazed over and the exhaust manifold plugged with carbon its amazing it started so well! non ether it would start at 15 degrees F to push snow with about 10 mins of pony run time. my goal is to having back together and running friday. then on to fixing the track tensioners. angle iron has been welded to the tensioner threaded rod. the tracks keep dropping of the rollers when going in and out of holes and turning. the rollers and tracks are in great shape or this beast would be scrap. well back to pre comb chamber sealing ring any suggetions would be very helpfull!
thank you!

Sealing shouldn't be any great mystery. Takes good threads, seal surfaces...both head and pre-com plus sealing washers to do the job. How much corrosion and missing metal is gone from the head and the chambers? No, I don't know who has the copper seal washers but you might try Florin Tractor. Even if you do get them they won't fix a severe seat problem.
the threads on 2 of them are chewed up a little on the chamber. the head threads are good.
i will get 4 new sealing rings and hopefully this will take care of it. the machinist is going to complete fixing the head and resurfacing it and the put the new sealing rings on chamber and then test it till its sealed.
which i hope works?
thanks for the reply's

Be careful with messed up threads....it's easy to tear them out when going for that 200 ft-lbs torque. Replacement chambers aren't all that expensive.
