I have a D-2 5U with a leaking radiator. I took it off and tried to clean the tubes prior to soldering. The tube just kept falling apart due to wide spread corrosion. I want to try to find a radiator shop that may be able to fit a core. Does anyone know of any radiator shops that do more than sell car radiator in the SC area?

Thanks

I believe you should be able to order the replacement core by the CAT part number or the application depending on the company that you get one from.

To my knowledge there are only 2 options on the U series D2's........ with oil cooler and without.

When you're getting a new core is a great time to remove the original oil cooler and loop the oil cooler lines together just in front of the oil filter.

Or if you want the authentic look, get the narrow core, leave the oil cooler in and hope it lasts a while longer.
D2-5J's, D6-9U's, D318 and D333 power units, 12E-99E grader, 922B & 944A wheel loaders, D330C generator set, DW20 water tanker and a bunch of Jersey cows to take care of in my spare time😄

I've seen some earlier threads where some of the folks have had good luck with General Radiator (800) 336-2444 , I Can not speak personally about them. My D2 is going to need a new radiator at some point in time. When I rebuilt my 44 hydraulic unit I replumbed my oil cooler and did a loop as CC suggested in preparation for a new radiator. For the time being I used Alumaseal to stop the leak so I can use the tractor this summer
good luck😆
