My buddy the scrapper called me and asked if I'd buy a D4 for just a little over scrap?  I said sure thing bring it. Turns out to be a 1949 D4 6U with a power take off and an early 4A blade. It was sitting under a fallen garage for decades.

That's great to have a torch maniac for a friend that can look for old usable yellow iron. Good find to save from the scrap heap and you cant go wrong on a cheap price. .

The only calls I get are from scrappers that wonder if I want the old fallen garage!! 😊 😊

Yes i have a good buddy. I told him if he runs on to something to call me. I always pay a little above scrap that is an incentive to not torch it plus he makes a little extra.  I'll try to get some pics.

That's the way to do it bursitis - that way they're not out, they get their money but don't have to handle the scrap so they're doing even better, and you get something usable for not much more than scrap - win/win

School me on the early 4A blade? I see a clamp arrangement on each corner for tilt? I don't see any provision for forward rear tilt?

Testimonials

"I also joined a year ago. had been on here a couple of times as a non-member and found the info very helpful so I got a one year subscription (not very expensive at all) to try it out. I really like all the resources on here so I just got a three year. I think its a very small price for what you can get out of this site."
