Pulled the pistons and cylinders from an Autopatrol 7 and 3 of the 4 were really rusted and stuck. I had PB Blaster in the cylineders for about a year. I pressed out the pistons and they were REALLY rusted. One cylinder had rust growing out from the walls about 1/2".

I swear by PB Blaster for old rusted nuts and bolts, but is there any other product that will disolve rust?

Hoping to salvage these pistons & cylinders.

For iron or steel, judicious use of a muriatic acid bath will quickly remove a lot of the rust. Iron that is not rusted probably won't stand muriatic for long, so don't leave it in there.

Muriatic acid is available at most building supply stores for cleaning brick etc. Use gloves and eye protection!
D2-5J's, D6-9U's, D318 and D333 power units, 12E-99E grader, 922B & 944A wheel loaders, D330C generator set, DW20 water tanker and a bunch of Jersey cows to take care of in my spare time😄
