Went out to have a look at a potential parts 'dozer today for my D9G. Turns out this relic was a 49A (D9E?). Direct drive. Anyway looks like someone had a go fixing it a few years back (10 at a guess) and left it open to the elements.

Now it's in the middle of a quarry 60kms out of town and hasn't started for years. Big motor exhaust has been left open plus the bits missing as you can see.

Maybe a few bits i could use (hydraulic pump, pony motor, air cleaner bases) but not worth dragging home unfortunately.

It's a shame, my offsider worked with this machine in the mid to late 80's and it was tidy as, really well looked after.

Few pictures.

That is a shame as they are to good to just let sit.... I will take better pictures of my D9G to show everyone but damn just hate seeing a pile of parts just wasting away... Thanks for sharing...

Time to break out the tools and the 50:50 auto transmission oil/acetone!
It’d be a good New Years resolution...

As long as the weep hole on the turbo-charger is not clogged, the engine might not be stuck at all... Drag it home.

Logistics make it really difficult. There are better ones closer to town I'd pick up before this one.

Testimonials

"I also joined a year ago. had been on here a couple of times as a non-member and found the info very helpful so I got a one year subscription (not very expensive at all) to try it out. I really like all the resources on here so I just got a three year. I think its a very small price for what you can get out of this site."
