When you buy a reprint manual from Cat, is it bound like the original books would've been...or is it spiral bound?

Yesterday's tractors has the manuals that I need, they claim to be reprints of the originals...has anyone ordered manuals from them?

THANKS!!!

My D6c manuals (from Cat) are paperback...the thicker one are glued at the spine and the thin ones are stapled. Part of them came punched and in a 3-ring binder. The whole set for mine runs about $400

I bought a set of manuals for myCat D25U from Yesterday's Tractors. The quality of the printed material was pretty good but the quality of the photos was about 50% poor and the rest were just okay. The reprinter was JenSales and if I had to do it all over again I would probably do more research to see if a better quality was available. Just my opinion.
Have a good evening.....Bill

I called 😛hone:Midland Press for a manual last year and they told me I have to call Cat now. Midland used to provide ones that resembled the originals but the bindings didn't hold up. And now As far as I'm concerned, The newer reproductions are not that nice compared to the older repros. You pay big $$ for a copy that's stapled together the size of a magazine. I ordered ones for my 15 Motor Patrol -parts & owners. They are OK for shop use though but finding an original for my application would be very hard. The best source for original manuals is Ebay but you will need to be patient to find the exact one you want. $400 sounds high😛uke: did you buy from your local dealer? I priced ones for a D2 one time from the local dealer and they were 2X higher than Midland:faint: Eventually I picked some off of ebay.

Is there a decent source out there for reprints of the manuals? So far I've heard that the Midland ones have great info/pics, but don't hold-up well. The Jensales ones are spiral-bound, but the pics suck.

I have a D4 5T series tractor and really need to get the serviceman's guide for the Crawler, the Engine and the Operators guide. I have the original parts guide.

This is getting frustrating!!! I've been watching Ebay, so far not a lot of luck on the manuals that I actually need.

Bruce,

Unless I am mistaken, I don't think that the D4 operators manual will work for my D4 5T.

The 4G & 7J series are older than my tractor...I think.

If I am wrong, and the manual will work, somebody please correct me and I will buy it!!!

Thanks to a lot of luck and Bruce's help, I've located original copies of all the books I need...all except for my D4400 serviceman's reference book.

If anyone sees the proper D4400 serviceman book for my D4 5T, please let me know.

I'll be watching Ebay like a hawk and if that doesn't work...guess I will buy a reprint from my Cat Dealer.

"I also joined a year ago. had been on here a couple of times as a non-member and found the info very helpful so I got a one year subscription (not very expensive at all) to try it out. I really like all the resources on here so I just got a three year. I think its a very small price for what you can get out of this site."
