Reggie the Dachshund and master Bill make a snow ball with the D2.
Sometimes I feel like my life should be a country music song LOL.
My faithful Dachshund Reggie and I went to the Tractor Supply Store today.
Since I had the D2 out and running – cleaning up the latest snow storm remnants – I decided we might as well just drive across the field to get there.
So off we went - Reggie riding beside me on the D2!
Luck was with us in that we found a parking spot right in front of the store. (picture 1 & 2)
We got what we needed at TSC (and Reggie got a dog biscuit as usual) we made our way back home across the fields.
Since there hasn’t been a lot to do lately – with all this snow and all – I thought it might be fun and all to see if we could roll up a snow ball with the D2 as we traveled home.
Reggie gave me a tail-wag on that idea.
So, we got this snow ball started – by pushing it different directions. Soon we had a sizeable snow ball and I hopped off the D2 and took a picture.
(see picture 3 & 4)
Then I got to wondering just how big can I make it?!?!?
So we kept going – steering all different directions to keep the snow ball moving and to keep it round.
I hopped off again and took another picture (see picture 5)
I would say that it doubled in size after picture 5 – it was all the little D2 could do to push the several ton snow ball.
Then… disaster stuck… the curvature of the blade wasn't great enough and the cutting edge caught the rolling snow ball – lifted the dozer up – and split the snow ball into several little pieces.
That was the end of the giant snow ball.
Sorry that I didn’t get a picture of the largest one – it absolutely dwarfed the D2.
(look close at all the pictures for Reggie riding on the fender – he’s there) Maybe we’ll try it again tomorrow – it the snow is just right.
Has anyone else tried this?!?!
Great fun!!
.
