Been awhile since I've posted anything and I know this is off subject, but I thought you guys would enjoy a few pics from a new job I have. The old steam power plant I work at is being replaced by 10 Wartsila 50DF18V engines. That is Dual Fuel 50cm bore, 58cm stroke V-18. In my gear head mind that is more than 125,000 cubic inches! Four of us are here in Ft Lauderdale Fl. at the Wartsila training center to learn how to use the hydraulic jacks to tension the bolts and overhaul injectors. The injectors are so big they have to be lifted with a crane. Anyway I got a few snaps and thought you guys would enjoy.

I think I'm getting the pic thing figured out. These are mostly in the training dept. They have used engines that have had a major failure and they cut off the broken parts and use the rest for training. None of them are as big as ours. The tall blue one is an inline 46. Like ours but smaller bore(46cm). The six foot exhaust valve came out of a Sultzer 2 stroke. The heads we are installing valve seats into came off of the RCCL Legend of the Seas cruise ship.

Great pictures. Looking at the pic of the piston rings in the second set, you have nothing to gauge scale by until you realize that the flooring is 12 x 12 VCT tiles. Thanks.

Check the floor tiles in the pic of the rods. Here's a few of the various turbos, they are so large they use blading like a gas turbine on the exhaust side.
