I found this old gal in the California desert....and she's crying to run again. Where is the serial number located on the ole RD7?

There should be two tags, one on the back of the rear end housing near the upper left corner and one on the left side of the diesel engine block, a few inches above the block/oil pan gasket seam and just forward of the pony motor. Both these tags should have matching serial numbers, if they don't then that usually means that somebody did an engine swap sometime in the past. If it's an RD7, the serial number will start with either a "5E" prefix (very rare) or "9G" which was much more common.

Thanx, Toby. That's the general idea of where I thought they'd be. There was nothing underneath, but I'll recheck it.
