G'day All,
Long time no speak. I've just renewed my membership and noticed it's been seven years and I'm still looking for a set of chains and plates for my 1939 2H series. In the interim I could probably get away with the plates. Can anybody tell me the range of Cat models, (if any), that would use compatible tracks I could use on my machine?

Best regards,
Qld Rod.

I believe the 4 & 5 r series D6, 8 & 9 u series D6 and D6 B all used the same pitch chain, just more links. Also some of the 955 track loaders used the same chain. And possible others such as a Cat 40 and R5.

Thanks Ray, Do you know if the D4 6U or 7U is compatible?

Thanks Old Magnet, would that pitch be 171 and is it the chain that is narrower?

Pitch is 6.75" and yes the D4 chain is narrower.

D4 bottom rollers fit the RD6 track frames, if your front idlers are a bit worn, D4 tracks will fit, I have a RD6 running D4 chain happily.

I show about a 1" difference inside chain width and about  5/8" difference in sprocket widths. Seems it would be a very worn D4 rail to run on the RD6.
