Hello fordkhook
I am just finishing RD6, got new old stock piston from Jim Zimmerman, but it has been 2 or more years ago.

I'm currently working on a 2H myself. if I can find relative info.. I'll pass it on. I'm just getting started on my." More than a no load miss".#2cyl.cold .😞
I'm new to club. looking forward to R D 6 info. mind if I tag along?
Best to you from " High Desert Country'
The RD7 and RD8 used the same piston, have you tried Florin Tractor Parts in Sacramento?
regards
Mike
If you cannot find one, I may have one, but may need to use it in a RD6 my son has, If not it can go. What is the bore?

What is the s/n of the RD6? or even better the part number of your piston if you know it.
Old Magnet,

I just looked at my RD6 Parts Number Books 2H1-2H3247, and 2H3248-2H8966, neither book mention a 6B3912 piston in all the different pistons used, and a look on the Parts Machinery Search with that P/N doesn't show a cross number reference, or stock anywhere in the world, which is kind of weird because there were a lot of 3, 4 and 6 cylinder Cat. motors built using that 5 3/4" piston. I'm sure someone schmarter than me will chime in with a number for you, or even some pistons..
I really like Florin and buy a lot of parts through them, I reckon Judy is really on the ball and the rest of the staff I met there a year ago really impressed me.

Mike
Hi Team,
by way of an explaination :- the number cast into the piston is usually the body casting/forging Part Number. The actual part number can be another Part Number stamped into the top surface of the piston crown, or, indeed it could the casting number on these old pistons as they have no steel inserts for the top rings.
In the parts book the numbers given are for piston assemblies---ie---they have the rings fitted so, are another number again---confusing, yes, it is Yellow Fathers way of doing things.
Sorry, I can not help further.
Cheers,
Eddie B.
