Good afternoon,
I am wanting to put new seals in the cylinders of a Laplant Choate dozer attachement on my RD6. Does anyone know of a source?
I have the rod cap off the cylinder and the seal is beveled so the cap can be tightened to compress the seal.
I have not removed the seal because I the whole cylinder is not apart yet.
The rod is 2.250" diameter and the housing is about 3.250" diameter.
Please let me know.
Thanks,
Scott

Hi, Scooter.
Any good hydraulics repair facility or shop that specializes in bearings and seals ought to be able to help. They may have to order them in and what is available may not be exactly what is in there now, but careful measuring and assessing should tell if an alternative will fit and work.

Just my 0.02.

You have a wonderful day. Best wishes. Deas Plant.

Good evening,
I think these may be similar to shut off valve gland packing. I am going to keep looking.
Thanks,
Scooter

Good evening,
it was a slow project, but I finally finished rebuilding my Laplant lift cylinders on my RD6. I machined off the rod ends and had new rods made from cylinder rod material.
I also found that those use an obsolete size of v-ring gland packing.
But, I finally drove it around and have no leaks.

sounds like you got her working but V packing is used widely in the Oil filed for there pump's. anything that's a fractal size one could get without a problem. I need packing for my steering cylinders on my Euclid s7 and local hyd store got it all in fast and cheap was under 50.00 for both cylinders I was going to change it over to a ploy pack. just got to ask the right people.
