A neighbour brought me an Eisemann pony motor mag for his RD4 and it looked like it was buried in dirt and grease so I proceeded to take it apart then wash and repack the bearings . The coil and condenser tested good . When reassembled it was almost dead. It has a jump spark distributor cap in lieu of brushes. The witness marks on the gears are correct . The breaker plate is stamped "CLW" for clockwise rotation. By some chance does the RD4 pony motor mag turn clockwise or is it the same as the D4 and D2 and some bloke modified it to turn anticlockwise?? Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated!!
The RD4 MAGNETO IS COUNTURCLOCK LIKE D2-4
Should be a RC2H or RC2Q magneto with counter clockwise rotation same as early D2/D4.
Eisemann model RT mags are jump spark distribution and RC's are brush distribution. I hate those magnetos
