Hi cysco,
all the cores at The Dealer were painted black from Cat or the outsource Radiator repairers, and always the thinnest of coatings to aid heat conductivity. Black has been determined to be the colour of best heat transfer in either direction, ie, taking in or giving out from the surroundings which in this case is the air stream.
Cheers,
Eddie B.

Hi Eddie.......I have heard that paint will sometimes interfere with the heat transfer but I am assuming that depends on how much and color that is applied. I know the "high temp" paints are thinner and tend to adhere better with the temp variations.
Thanks for the info
Have a good day.........Bill

Don't use regular paint, radatior shops use a paint that is specially made for this use. The old oil based type is much better than the newer water based types, dries faster too!

Testimonials

"I also joined a year ago. had been on here a couple of times as a non-member and found the info very helpful so I got a one year subscription (not very expensive at all) to try it out. I really like all the resources on here so I just got a three year. I think its a very small price for what you can get out of this site."
