Have a problem with the Zenith carburetor on my R2
Tractor gets started 1 or 2 time a year most times after the first crank gas pours out the carburetor
Tractor will run and gas will not leak from carb while it is running
If I shut it off no leak and will not leak if I restart
I think it has to be float adjustment but can’t find the proper way to adjust it
The needle valve works and I did clean the carburetor and replace the gaskets with no change
Any thoughts on the problem or adjustment information would be appreciated

Thank You
Greg

Too much choke? Sticky float valve due to old gas that gets cleaned out during the run?

My 22 had a similar problem, there is a spec sheet on the K5(?) posted on here which I found with float measurements. I tweaked the float arms "slightly" to lower the float a "hair". I no longer have the gas puking problem similar to what you are describing.

Use Sta-bil in the gas all the time.

Testimonials

"I also joined a year ago. had been on here a couple of times as a non-member and found the info very helpful so I got a one year subscription (not very expensive at all) to try it out. I really like all the resources on here so I just got a three year. I think its a very small price for what you can get out of this site."
