We have an old Leroi and has a split pulley on the water pump. We did not have a spanner wrenh so made one, but couldn't separate the two halves. The old belt on there shreaded and a C55 is too tight and a C60 is too sloppy. Double checked the threads, PB Blastered it 20 times and let sit, but still won't budge. There are two slots in the housing, but can't find a keeper, or anything else that woud lkeep it from turning.

Any trick to these I'm missing?

Outside collar looks to be LH thread, are you turning the right way?

Heat up the outer piece. Rigid makes a chain wrench that has a handle that is about a foot long. That will keep you from tearing up the notches in the pulley. Heat it and put the chain wrench on and she will move. Or you will find out why...

Get a spray can of Justice brothers JB-80 penetrating oil ,and spray in all the holes and threads .spray it on several times in 24 hours ,and try turning the front face of the vee
looks like right hand threads when viewed from front of pulley ,so that turning it clockwise ,would tighten the vee's

You're going the wrong way. Threads look clean so I doubt loose juice is really needed. That looks like a Left Hand thread, you need to turn it the other direction. You've tightened it up as far as it will go.

Testimonials

"I also joined a year ago. had been on here a couple of times as a non-member and found the info very helpful so I got a one year subscription (not very expensive at all) to try it out. I really like all the resources on here so I just got a three year. I think its a very small price for what you can get out of this site."
