I have a d2 sn: 5u6255 that is missing a generator. I have located the correct generator 8f3333 which is coming with a 26 tooth gear. My book shows I need a 20t gear (which I have procured) to interface with my intermediate gear. This generator has 26t gear installed which was for a d2 that had a direct mount model with no intermediate gear. This being the case, wont the generator be turning ccw and not cw as I need. Does this seem correct? Was the 8f3333 built in both a cw and ccw model by chance? Any help is appreciated.

The 8F3333 generator is a Delco Remy #1102734 unit cw rotation.
An 8F3334 is a Delco Remy #1102735 unit with cc rotation.
Both are the same 6V, 20a, 1300 rpm units with the same #1784 Delco Remy specifications.

The generator you have with the 26T gear is most likely from a D315 or D318 engine. These have one more gear in the timing cover gear train than the D2, making rotation opposite.
