Hi, I have a pull type Cat grader, the SN is 8H500. We use it on the farm to run thru our field drainage ditches, it has a 12' moldboard and has been converted to hydraulic cyl. for the main control arms. I still have the Cat engine that ran the grader it has a SN of 4D1060 and I had it running a few years ago. It has a Fairbanks Morse magneto. The engine weighs 325 lbs.

I have surfed for detailed info on both of these and I cant find anything. If you have some info on year made, rare, etc. please let me know. Thanks.

The grader is listed as a #44 grader & production started in 1937 according to the Cat SNID book but the engine year is blank & not listed as to what year it was first produced. That,s all I have on it.

Bruce, Of all the pull graders I,ve seen & been around here in my area I never saw one with a small engine on it like this one you pictured. Cat graders were as scarce as hens teeth to begin with as most were Galion & Austins & Adams pull behind graders.

Kinda like this one. We pulled this one out of the brush a few weeks ago. The engine was replaced with a Wisc years ago. Owner still has orginial engine. Note the optional siting pin above the front pedistal, a farmer add on. I have to try and help him get this going I will post some other pictures from the farm later. The number on this grader is 8H761.

Testimonials

"I also joined a year ago. had been on here a couple of times as a non-member and found the info very helpful so I got a one year subscription (not very expensive at all) to try it out. I really like all the resources on here so I just got a three year. I think its a very small price for what you can get out of this site."
