This PTO unit came with some other stuff we recently purchased. We were told it might fit a D6 9U and/or D5 but the bolt pattern doesn't look right to me.

Some part numbers on the unit are as follows;

6B7553
S2368
1B3479
S2377

Measurements between the top two holes is 3-3/4, between center holes looks to be 7-1/4" and the bottom is 2-1/2".

Anyone have any ideas what this might fit?

Here are some pictures.

The 6B7553 leads to PTO groups, 3B1179, 2F7984, and 8F6315, used on 6G, 2T, 5T, 7J, 6U, 7U, etc.

Awesome, thank you! We don't have anything that old, we were hoping it would work on a D5 so we could run a bigger rotary or flail.

I don't imagine it would be worth the effort in retrofitting to work either. As Bruce P recently mentioned in my other thread, the type with their own reservoir can't keep cool very well and a D5 would work it a lot harder than the 2H. I'll let my Dad know what I have learned and perhaps we can list it in the for sale forum to find a good home for it rather than store it forever in the barn and never use it. I'm sure these are hard to find if you did own a 2H and were looking for one.

Thanks,
Jordan

Although it is listed for the 2H I suspect it fits a host of other units.
I don't have info on what all that PTO fits but looking at the adapter pattern for mounting a #25 CCU which looks like the same pattern it fits the 2H, 35 & 40 tractor, and later D6's. I believe it will fit the D5 as well, worth checking before you dispose.

Thanks! The two lower holes that are close together made me think it would not fit the 9U/D5. I'll take the unit out to one soon and compare closer.

Is there any way to tell how much of an implement one of these could run? Would hate to scatter it trying to run a 12 foot rotary mower even if it does fit on the machine.

Thanks,
Jordan

I don't have any load limit specs but a 12 footer sounds a bit much. They have a habit of twisting the spline shaft if over loaded. Run it with a slip clutch for protection.

Thanks a ton OM! The information you have provided is very much appreciated!

We went out today and compared this bolt pattern to a D6 4R and a D5B and although the pattern for those two look to be the same, they are both different than this PTO unit.

The top and bottom bolts on the 4R and D5B cover plate are 6-1/8" on center versus 3-3/4" and 2-1/2" on the PTO. So, unless there are more holes hiding under the cover plate it appears the pattern must have changed some time after the 2H?

Here are pictures of the D6-4R;

RD6 plower,
You may be right, went back and looked at the 2H application and it's not that either. Doesn't have that lower tail with the two bolt mounting. Looking to see if I have something that shows the back end of the 30.

"I also joined a year ago. had been on here a couple of times as a non-member and found the info very helpful so I got a one year subscription (not very expensive at all) to try it out. I really like all the resources on here so I just got a three year. I think its a very small price for what you can get out of this site."
