The Thirty that I like to play with has been laid up for the last few years because of a bad master clutch. As part of that project, I have been tightening up and checking on a few other things on the tractor. Something I have never done on this tractor is to replace the governor sleeve thrust bearing. When worn, these bearings can lose their balls and sometimes the balls go through the timing gears, making quite a mess. Thankfully, someone has had the front of this tractor open before and replaced a bunch of governor parts. The pins and flyweights are tight along with the sleeve on the shaft. The S397 finger has been replaced at some time; it is painted army green. My problem is that the S403 shaft was homemade and not a good candidate to copy to make a new one. Does anyone have a print for S403 so that I can make a correct one? I know the diameter .500", the length 4.500", and the hole sizes. What I do not know is the center-to-center distance of the holes and how they are clocked in relation to each other.
