I have been looking for a TEN for quite a while. And I was able to score this one at the San Joaquin ag museum auction last weekend. However I can't seem to get any spark out of it. At least visually I see no spark. But it's enough to give me a bit of a jolt. So before I go any further with this mag. I want to verify it's correct for this model. It's a American Bosch. MJB4B-102 and the TEN is a PT333.

nice little machine. those grousers have done little work. try checking for spark with new non resistor plugs in the dark. week spark can be caused by poor return path. the flange mating faces should be spotless to help things along a light rub with 2b pencil on the flange faces works well.

Great to see someone from the group got it. I was surprised that the engine turned over freely. Our Chapter 15 leader managed to purchase a full load of crawlers as well.
Hope to see the video of this TEN soon. JM

So I used this to test for spark with the magneto off the machine. No visible spark at tight or wide gap. I don't think the grousers are all that bad

That's a cool tester. Your grousers are way better than mine, which are basically slicks

A couple of pictures from the auction. I had only just heard about it the day before. Definitely some interesting models available but most were in rough condition.

The proper mag for the 10 is the Eismann GV4. It was the mag that came on the tractor. Your Bosch or Wico will work fine if in good shape.

Ah ok my apologies i misread it. The grousers look decent. It does have wear at the overlap between the pads. And of course the pins and bushings are shot. Not sure what's available to remady that. I will do some searching and see if I can locate that eisemann mag before I go any further with the Bosch. Thank you

There should be some local shops that can check your magneto.
Canevari Bros. in Woodland, CA or there is one by Auburn, CA depending on where you’re located.
A really good small shop in Artois, CA too!

I have a GAVa4 Mag that has been reconditioned for sale. $400 with no core required.

Testimonials

"I also joined a year ago. had been on here a couple of times as a non-member and found the info very helpful so I got a one year subscription (not very expensive at all) to try it out. I really like all the resources on here so I just got a three year. I think its a very small price for what you can get out of this site."
