Hello, Members,

Over a year ago I contacted a Foundry in Texas (who regularly had full page adds in our magazine) to order a manifold for my Cat 22 project. After sending $1800 and my manifold (from which they were to make patterns) I now have nothing to show. The rare time they return a phone call they tell me they are suspending operations and don't know when (or if) they will make my parts. Better yet - they won't send back my manifold as they say they bought it by giving me a discount on the price!! Lawyer's can't do much as these guys are probably out of cash though I did see they have a nice building I think is full of machine tools - and my parts! A friend in Dallas made contact with the Texas Attorney General's office who indicates they will not open a case until they have several complaints. Anyone out they who may have been victimized by these bums please contact me and maybe we can get a batch of complaints and get criminal charges moving.

are you talking about Emxxxe?
so they suspended operations?

I just recieved a flyer in the mail from them wanting my business. I have heard of several bad deals about this company. Please report them to the BBB of Tx and see what they can do to get your funds back.

DO NOT SEND THEM MONEY OR PARTS!!! YOU WILL SEE NEITHER AGAIN! I know other club members who have been robbed this way, and I have also found posts on other club boards to the same effect.

The BBB already has them listed as F- due to lack of resolution of claims but all the BBB does is keep track of such complaints. They do not have any enforcement or legal powers.

I had someone from the same company awhile back begging almost to the point of
harrasment to send them $600.00 for a Cat Ten manifold. Special offer he said one in stock. Needless to say I didnt send him a dime. I also thought it seemed odd they would advertise in a vintage truck magazine and not a tractor magazine. It is a shame we have to be on gaurd all the time.

I too was a little leary of Empire but I ordered a Cat 60 heat box on Monday and it was delivered yesterday(Wednesday). It arrived in 3 days, well packaged, and is a quality piece. I had it shipped C.O.D. I personally know of 3 other Cat collectors who have purchased manifold parts and claim to be satisfied with their transactions. I'm not trying to persuade anyone one way or the other, just stating facts of my experiences.

D8Pete,

From the other 10 - 12 response I have received to my post, your experience is unique. All the others have sent their money and have not seen their parts. One of the members of my local chapter also received a heat box for his 60 (after waiting 2 years) but is still out the bulk of his money and has not seen the manifolds he was also expecting.

Paul - I can certainly feel for anyone who has had their hard earned money ripped out of their hands. Believe me when I say that I approached this company with caution as I too had heard what you and a few others have gone through. I have no problem telling a crook or anyone else that a crook is a crook, or that a good businessman is a good businessman. I just try and tell the facts and let others make their own judgements. Hopefully your issues will be resolved in the future.

Pete did the right thing and had his parts sent to him COD.
That way if the parts don't arrive then they don't get paid.

Sounds like COD is the only way to deal with these guys.

Not much way to get screwed like that if you check your parts before you pay.
D2-5J's, D6-9U's, D318 and D333 power units, 12E-99E grader, 922B & 944A wheel loaders, D330C generator set, DW20 water tanker and a bunch of Jersey cows to take care of in my spare time😄

I had inquired about a 28 manifold and he said one left instock so send your payment fast to make sure you get it but I was leary so I didn't . He wants 2800 bucks for the manifold thought that was a little steep myself. Jason
