Can't remember the size but one can be made quickly from a nut and bolt.

I put 2 nuts on a bolt and spot welded them together and then to the bolt. Drop it in pre cup and use a large pull handle.

I think you are referring also to the union nut that holds the injector valve into the head assm?

i can't get the number without digging into my old books in the shop or dig out the special tools, but it's a large, bell-ended deep socket with one side milled away for clearance around the injection tube. They cost a lot. Those nuts get stuck real bad some times. After I broke my wrench and welded it back together, I welded a big nut onto the top so I could use a MANUAL IMPACT WRENCH on it. Since that modification I haven't split it again nor have I been stopped by a rusty injector nut.

Hi Paul,
missing is the auxiliary spring set up.
You run the risk of winding the tractor up and over on itself to cause a severe/fatal outcome.

Not a bad production on the socket considering no pattern to work from. The Cat tool is a 12-point and they cut away just enough of the side to allow 1/12th of a turn and then you reset it on the nut. The broached 12point is only about 1/2 inch deep so they could hold maximum strength as far down as possible before they cut out the side. All that, and they still break occasionally.

Give that hand impact wrench some serious consideration. It's amazing what they can break loose. They used to be in the Cat ONE SAFE SOURCE sales flyers. (Anything old enough to have that type injector is old enough to be really rusty...)
