There is two types of D315 chambers & others & the early one takes three tools to remve them completely, a spacer to drop own inside the chamber where the nozzle goes & the tool with threads on it screws into the top part of the chamber retainer to pull it out & butts against that spacer down in the chamber I mentioned. Then there is a serrated type bolt (tool) that drops down inside the chamber itself to unscrew it out & install it.If it has the one piece later chamber then just this serrated tool is needed for removing & installing. There could have been some after market tool CO.that sold them but I guess the Cat dealer would be the place to get the numbers from their dealer tool supply book. Hard to say if the tools are available yet but some used ones might be around if you knew where to purchase them.
Hi Thanks for the info. All of the part numbers were good last time I checked with Cat about six months ago. I could not remember where I put my notes and then I remembered when I saw Old Magnets picture. I have all of the kit except for 1A2208 bolt and 5F9072 spacer. I have the new chamber number down as 2S1273 at a $117.58 for Cat and the new retianer as 5H7225 at $17.81 for Cat.
Thanks for the info!!
Ken
Depends on what model D315 you have.
I show a #2S 1273 (one piece) replacement for 6U1-8011, 7U1-19786.
A #1S 1967 (one piece) replacement for 6U 8012-up, 7U19787-up
Both these numbers are non-glow plug type.
I can not say that I have verified this info. so checking would be a good idea.
On the one piece replacement chambers all you need for R & R is the splined bolt tool.
I bought a set two years ago. The later type was in cats classic program.
the early type was a one piece replacement for the orginal. the early
and later are different sizes. I don't recall the pricing but the classic was
a lot cheaper.(made in Europe)
