Good morning,

Does anyone have a recommended Porta power tonnage for doing work such as pulling the sprocket on a d6 8u/9u or pressing pins etc? My local cat will rent the tooling but not the unit and they couldn’t/wouldn’t recommend a size. Thanks

I believe the old Cat hand pump units were 100 ton.

if you after rams and pumps have a look at www.hydrualic.online while they are a australian company they do have a warehouse in texas. and a ebay store for north american customers. thier prices are wholesale prices. they have pumps, rams, fittings, hose, motors, valves, remote controls.

currently the have air operated 10 thousand psi pumps capable of 200 thousand pound force from120 psi of air pressure on special for $310aud plus postage and it comes with a fitted hose.

its the rams more than anything that set the tonnage not the pump unit. yes your pump has to hold enough oil to stroke the ram the required amount and double piston pumps are faster.
just remember this equipment runs on 10 thousand psi so its not normal hose and fittings you need to use jacking hose and fittings.

I really like all the resources on here so I just got a three year. I think its a very small price for what you can get out of this site."
