My neighbor has a 17A that has not been started for 3 or 4 months. Gassed it up and it started right up. Ran 10 or 15 seconds and died. Now it has no compression in either cylinder. Compression tester shows 10 or 15 lbs. Had the side plate off the engine and the valves all seem to be working. Thinking the head gasket between cylinders is out. The big question is can we get the head off without pulling the pony motor? Any thoughts would be appreciated. Thanks.
