I know this is crazy to ask but frustration has set in 15 degrees and 21mph winds -5 windchill and I'm 60. I have a cat 12 9K and need to confirm which cylinder on the pony is Number 1. From rear of grader facing main engine is the cylinder on the Right the Number 1? Thanks for your patience!!

Yes
#1 is on the side with pony/pinion controls

Practically it doesn’t matter much since the pony is an even fire design. If you have it timed to the wrong cylinder, simply swap the plug wires in the magneto cap.
D2-5J's, D6-9U's, D318 and D333 power units, 12E-99E grader, 922B & 944A wheel loaders, D330C generator set, DW20 water tanker and a bunch of Jersey cows to take care of in my spare time😄

Hi Team,
also as a further check the yellow SRB says it is the one nearest the pony flywheel.
Cheers,

Testimonials

"I also joined a year ago. had been on here a couple of times as a non-member and found the info very helpful so I got a one year subscription (not very expensive at all) to try it out. I really like all the resources on here so I just got a three year. I think its a very small price for what you can get out of this site."
