Can the drive assy. on the pony mtr. starter be changed out with one that stays engaged until pony starts, or at least fires a couple times?? Mine disengages as soon as one cly. fires.... then having to wait until it stops, try again ect.ect. Is there any adjustment on this issue?? Delco model 1107024 starter motor.

quinq: Sounds like your starter bendix to me. You should be able to pick up a replacement at a starter shop. I haven't seen an old Cat yet that the bendix wasn't bad on. It is a common thing to go out. Hope this helps.
